What subject areas are covered by databases? Databases are often related to specific subject disciplines and contain the academic and research literature for that subject. For example, CINAHL (Ebsco) is a database covering Nursing and Allied Health literature, including Australian and international articles. Similarly Meditext (Informit) covers medical and related topics and the articles are mainly Australian. Other databases can be more general covering a number of subject areas. Academic Search Premier (EBSCOhost) is an example of such a database, covering computer sciences, chemistry, arts and literature and medical sciences. |
