You can combine search terms in a number of ways. The two most common ways of doing this are to link search terms using the words AND and OR. These combining words are known as Boolean operators. Most library databases use Boolean operators.

The operator used to narrow a search and make it more specific is AND.

Its use requires that ALL keywords (or phrases) appear in the same information resource.
